New Jersey Sex Abuse Law

New Jersey Sex Abuse Attorneys

On May 13, 2019 Governor Phil Murphy Signed Into Law a New Bill Giving Victims Who Were Previously Denied Justice Two Years to File Civil Lawsuits Against Their Abusers and Those Who Employed Them or for Whom They Volunteered. This Law Applies to Any Victim Regardless of How Many Years Ago He/She Was Sexually Abused.

Experience Matters

Attorneys Stephen Rubino and McLaughlin & Lauricella, PC have, for decades, been at the forefront of the fight for the rights of victims who have been sexually abused. Their experience representing victims of sexual abuse goes back to the early 1990’s and before these issues became part of the consciousness of victimization at institutional-levels. The attorneys invite you to compare their experience to other attorneys you are considering to hire. Trust their decades of experience and expertise to help guide you to the path to obtain justice and fair compensation for the injuries you have suffered as a result of being sexually abused.

Priest and Clergy Abuse

Priest, rabbis and other clergy who sexually abuse children violate the sacred trust and faith placed in them and the consequences for the victim can last a lifetime.

Boy Scouts of America

Boy Scouts who have been sexually abused by their leaders deserve justice from the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) which did not protect them from the harms they suffered as young boys.

Youth Organizations & Schools

Teachers and youth leaders who exploit their roles as mentors to children and sexually abuse them need to be held accountable for violating their actions.

New Jersey Statue of Limitations

Finally, after years of having the doors of justice closed to them, New Jersey victims of sexual abuse will now be able to hold their abusers and those for whom they worked or volunteered accountable in a court of law. The new law just signed by the Governor, will give victims of sexual abuse, regardless of when they abused or their current age, two years to file an action commencing December 1, 2019.
